Lost in Cholera

I heard the day’s news,
160 dead…a few troubled,
Then my thought to you reached,
With melancholy, Beloved, Oh! Mine!
Are you fine?
In that distant place;
Away…far away,
Days to reach…

Troubling are these times,
As I write a letter to you,
One added to the toll,
Pray you hearken my words…
For Beloved, a distance saves my health…
A distance tries to touch your skin…

I fail to write!
I shake over…over and more…
Something pierced my ears and heart,
I wish to speak, words choke within,
One new number again to list,
The name revealed,
Oh! what a pain!
Tears all down these eyes;
As they stick to the TV box,
Hearing what they say,
Rejecting what they say,

NO! NO! NO WAY OUT!
LET ME END! LET YOU READ!

T.I.M.E.! S.T.O.P.! FREEZE
I will run,
Snatch you when you’re gone…

NO! You’re NOT GONE!
NO! YOU’RE NOT GONE!
But you are ………………………………………

Angelic Delight!

Wandering endlessly, I look for a vision,
Of a distant voice that aches a longing,
Where spring stays, the cold never comes,
Where patience reigns, prejudice never forms!

Behind the mountains, across the land,
...lies endless hills and endless dales,
...endless soft ground we thus touch at points,
As we walk, walk and walk!

And ask to me, what the voice is like?
I reclaim, "Angelic delight! Angelic delight!
Tender, soft, soothing and calm,
Deep is her voice, just like the sea,
Scorning, mocking, showing the way,
Joyous like wind (that sways the fields),
Merry is that voice!"

Thus in delight, I wait; it comes,
For displaced distance, we are near,
As they stare the beauty surpasses,
To them it thus fades, that soul I love and long!

Baby, I Love You!

Oh! look merry love, you are pretending hate,
Joys of togetherness, you're saying distance!
How stubborn you sound...how cute you look,
Baby tell me, I Love You!

You long my presence, I do the same,
And in presence you quarrel...that sweet anger,
As you test my patience, test my love,
You find it queer, yet you accept the fact.

Ignorant you sound, caring deep within,
Hunny, your smile and laughter I recall in days,
For in the serene night, soothing wind,
As the stars shine...one falls down,
Longing my way...you're that star.

And till the wind blows, in rage or tender,
It sends my love.

Thus in every air you breathe,
You breathe my love!

Nostalgia

A longing I wait,
After you are gone,
Visualizing your presence,
All over and more.

As I walk that very park,
Remember the park we met?
And once you gently had caressed my cheek,
Oh Beloved, come back for I,
I need to express,
How much, YES! I LOVE YOU!

A fear of closeness I feared too harsh,
Thus a step aback I had moved,
Then you went…back and back,
Till you reached that Lord’s hands!

Now as I read the morning news,
A painful case…a painful case…
Indeed a very PAINFUL CASE…

Your gentle touch I now long,
After you are gone,
Waiting your presence,
Just like the shore that stares to the eternal horizon…but just to see its shore!

(This is a poem I wrote after reading James Joyce’s A Painful Case. The poem is longing of love by James Duffy.)

Patient Children of the World

How long can patience wait,
When everything is in haste?
To patience, when you cheer and woo,
What is time? When it flows a river’s journey?

Yes! Oh! yes! Life is early,
To noon and night…
Those mystic dawns and dusk,
Astounding shades, bright morning suns,
As earth does around, those patience are pretences!

Almighty voice, hear my words,
As I reclaim, who are you?
And yet you turn the tides,
Smooth and soft,
Gentle wind,
Tranquility and clash…

And when everything you turn at pace,
Why do your children wait?

Another Chance …an aching for longing your love

Feelings does prevail, when emotions are full,
When in melancholy affection fails to comfort,
Loneliness, ‘spite the crowd does last long,
Love, when love, becomes a bane,
Its joy turns sadness, smiles becomes pain.

That deep red rose, I once gave to you,
Look! its color is fading…withering…falling apart,
For the spring that brought joy and laughter,
Has slowly slipped away, by the sad autumn,
To a brief halt or eternity? I know not the length.

As I sit back and rest,
I stay confused…worried…my eyes feel heavy,
Longing your way, where you never come to me,
Longing your affections that you never, show to me,
Longing your care that you never do to me,
Longing your merry talks that you never share to me,
Longing your love that you never express!
