Soul Song

What is life?
Is it just a dream?
A second you wake up,
The remaining you sleep.

In perishable earth, you yearn for desires,
In quest you adduce the shape of a soul,
In vessels you fill, or in wax you imprint,
Yet in words it stays, shapeless and deformed,
And in leaks of vessels, it escapes in joy.

With sound eloquence you say, immortal soul,
Yet in earth, it is crisp and frail,
A moment you laugh, sometimes cry in rage,
And alas! The next moment, to the horizon you stare still!

Sweet Misery …in dreams cherished, in reality, away!

I turned around, I saw you smile,
In chaos, I surrendered to you,
With eyes that sprung in joy,
And while your smile sedated me with tranquillity in sorrow,
Yet in boredom, you give me no delight,
For who are you?
I know not your soul,
Nor do you know, who I am;

Thence in misery we surely do live,
‘spite the longing, never shall we meet,
Save another coincidence, I wait your way…

Till then an illusion, I bid you a farewell,
Till then your existence; I must deny,
Save a vision that ere your way,
And thus in my dreams, you will be cherished,
Yet in reality, alas! Miles away!

A Note to My Beloved

A year too short,
Went away in your arms,
With merry memories,
I gave you my heart,
And as days pass,
Hunny I miss you a lot,
Don’t care the distance,
For it strengthens love as it plays to grow,
I stay; just next to you,
Breathing your love,
I stay confused,
For Love, oh! look,
Filled my heart with joy,
When indeed I never thought it would come…
And then you came,
Lonely roads, in day you are my shadow,
Serene nights, you are the light,
Reckon your heart bead, that beats for me,
Feel your breathe, the air that you breathe,
In strange world we surely do live,
When everyone on journey, rush and haste,
Someone waits as well, their journey awaits,
And it is when your patience pays a lifetime,
Now that you’ve found it,
Forever it will last,
And then in triumph, you will sing songs and wish,
I be with you…you be with me,
For life is a journey, love comes to blossom,
When your patience sings in jubilance,
You stay shy!
Oh, but why?
And yet my beloved,
Hearken my words,
Words I profess, time and again,
In silent murmur, only you will hear,
For if I say loud, others will envy,
My love for you,
Your love for me,
Oh Beloved, how much I say, time and again,
And yet never I get tired of it,
Indeed not, for I could savour your love,
Till my life time; till I sleep for the last time,
When ‘spite the love, I never can say,
I love you.
Shh!

Joan of Arc

In the pyres I hear her agony,
As tied in chains, she is burnt alive,
“Help! Help! It’s hot” she screams,
Jumping on fire, yet never succeeding…

Oh and look how they stare,
Some cursing, some weeping over the deed,
In anguish of cruelty,
That disguises for humanity;

And yet they turn their ears deaf,
Eyes blind, oh! what misery!
Where is humanity?
Oh! someone go! Rush!
Blow away the flame!
Oh! Please! It’s cruel!
Ruthless! Merciless!
A man giving justice to another man!
Oh! who is he?
How justified is his deed?
Save her!
That is justice…
Go! Rush!
Blow away the flame…
It’s hurting her…

And yet no one moved to save,
Save all stared and gazed,
Nothing did remain,
Everything died away,
And with it, so did her screams,
That said “Help! Help! It’s hot!”

But why didn’t you GO? Rushed?
Blew out the flame?

Illusion …when existence is an illusion?

Is she there? or is she an illusion?
With careen gestures, graceful motions,
With voice so very sweet,
Does she hear the words I say?
Feel and breathe my presence for long,
Staring at the stars and sky,
Up to the sun…off to the sun,
Reaching the sky from where she stares,
Like the heaven’s queen,
Wherever I go,
Watching my movements,
Warming my soul,
Shining in the dark,
Testing me in the day,
And I stay faithful, honest for long,

For,
No matter if the stars don’t shine,
No matter if the moon hides behind the clouds,
I look your way…

But is she there? or just an illusion I own?
With careen gestures, graceful motions?

Lovely Pretences!

When everything is fair,
When it is love,
What distance, what pretences?
Nothing lasts for long,
Scorn and chide,
Mock me and I;
I will smile in merry gestures,
With smiles that ere to touch thy lips,
Gently…softly…silent and tender…

And as birds migrate for warmth in the cold,
They bring to me, thy love that I long,
And as they depart, I send mine in regards,
For I know that thy long for my presence too…
