Angel's Love

The angel's love forever does last,
Linger to my memories I now cherish,
A faerie of the earth hidden underneath,
In the shallow waters where I could reach

Long enough was the wait I stayed,
The patience of love, finally paid,
Not the shadows of water that stays,
Merry song her voice now says,

"The shallow water, cold it was,
My awaited love, harsh it was,
What's love, I now know,
Wonderful life, I now share with thee.

The days of sorrow, overturned to joy,
The coldness of the water; and the air,
Are now warm with the love of yours,
The shallow water, now is long forgotten...

Your patience of love, now is paid,
My love to you, forever does stay,
Linger in our memories, we now share,
A fairy of the earth you thus see..."

A bright light she now showed,
The morning sun, never did rise,
Her beauty sparked...those falling pearls I caught...
Alas! The angel I saw now was a girl I loved from within,

The sun now raised, behind of me,
Her angelic face with the sun's radiant light,
Something magnificient, it looked,
Words run poor, save a thing I wish to say,
Ek is lief vir jou.

Unavailed Love

I heard her name in a crowded street,
I glanced her…she resembled an angel,
She then called me by my name,
“Unavailed love”, I called myself…dismissed the thought

I saw her in those narrow lanes,
Walking here and there,
She waved to me,
“Angel I can’t reach,” I called myself,
And she bid me a bye

Then a sorrow filled me from within,
I cried and wept,
She never did see,
The wet eyes in the falling rain,

“It’s easy to cry in rain,
As no one can see your tears,..”
“It’s easy to cry in rain,
As she couldn’t see my tears.”
And she laughed from within, I from the skin…

I saw the girl,
She blinked an eye to me,
Thought I’d do the same,
Alas! She didn’t know I was blind,
“Unfortunate love,” she said to me

One day she thus came to me,
I defined her appearance,
“You could see,” she told in disbelief,
“I could see…but could you?”

If I had a want,
I’d spellbound you with my love…nay I wouldn’t,
I’d wait till you walked to me

She then cried,
I wiped those tears…broke from within,
I then wished to hold her tight,
Nay, I couldn’t…I stood behind…stood behind…

Someone came, his vision was blur,
Held her close,
I watched in dismay,
Stepped back in the dark…

Unavailed love…
Unfortunate love…
Illusion unreached…
It just was a dream for real.

Country Love

Ever you love,
Love your country,
A girl that never will leave you,…
A girl you only can leave.

Smell the air, the breath she breathes,
Smell the soil, the love she spreads.
Feel those stones, the sufferings she resists,
See the mountains of snow, the smile she smiles.

Ever you love,
Love your country,
A girl that never will betray you,…
A girl you only can betray...

Her melody flows with the rivers,
Her pain, burnt to ashes,
Ashes that flies in the air,
But never leaves her alone…

Ever you love,
Love your country,
A girl that loves you unconditionally
A girl you can love with pride.

Love her and sing her song,
With the wind she’ll then rhyme with you,
With the rain,
She’ll wet you with her thank you note,…let go of her painful sorrows.

And she says, “ I love you,
But do you too?
Never will I betray or will I leave you,
But will you?...”

Mixed Emotions

The snow capped mountains that rests behind of you,
With the fading sun reflecting the snow,
It would look beautiful...nay it didn't
For you were infront of me...

What's the beauty compared to you?
The sun fades away...
The mountains darken with it,
But never will you or your beauty fade to me

Your black dark hair becomes the night for the mountains to darken
The moon to rise...the sun to fade,
Then I'll have you, all but to me...
'til the early morn when everyone will eye the beauty of yours

The banks of money, I saw today,
Lots of money...greed filled me from within
But your image that played in my mind,...
The money was rich...you were richer

What's the richness compared with you?
It slips away in a day or two,
But your love towards me...never will it fade,
Never will I ever be poor by you.

I saw a dream, I dreamt today,
I lay on my wooden bed,
Behind of me, you were there...tears in your eyes...
Oh! What misery, I never could wipe or kiss them away...

The beauty of yours that I adored,...
Beauty from within...nay from the skin,
I'll take with me,
And think of you up above...

But you wipe your tears, and go on,
Never worry,...
Ever you fall, ever you rise,
I'll always be there...just for you...only for you.

Just You

The cold breeze that blows in the early morn,
Blowing and blurring the vision by the morning haze,
The vision that looked at your figure,
Now alas! Is blurred…transfigured…

That fair faced lady,
With that angelic light,
Transfigured by the morning haze,
Into a lady of my kind I love.

Angelic hope now shimmers with the mists and drops of dew,
Reflecting a new life…a world of my own,
Merry me, with the lady transformed,
Those angelic light…are now in her eyes…

Life flows away, swiftly and soon,
Before we realize its flow,
It’s too late just to know,
How quickly life is spent…how short it now remains,

Life’s short lived,
Yet so long your memory lingers…
Immortal to the time I live,
Immortal to the life you live,

World’s anew…afresh I say,
You came to me like the rising sun after that falling rain,
Warm with love, that struck me again,
Those fading thoughts of love, blossom once again

Sprung with delight,
I wonder-wander around…about you,
I wish not to get hurt again,
So I keep those words all up to myself,

One day I dream, I know for sure,
I’ll hold your hands,…walk down the carpeted aisle,
Lean down up to you,
And kiss my beloved bride.

Bon Voyage

Her farewell kiss, on my cheeks,
Her merry face, broken from self?
Her tears of joy…her painful sorrow…
Her last turn behind...bon voyage

Like the castle of sand,
Promises never does last,
Blown and swept away,
Was there a castle in the sand?

Goodbye to you,
Walk away and farewell to your memories,
Those cherished memories of tears and joy,
Life’s short lived, there’s more of segregation, I know.

Your farewell kiss on my cheeks,
Your merry face; broken from self,
Your tears of joy; your sorrow within,
Your step forward…bon voyage

Yet I wish this be my dream,
I could frame the time,
Never let you go away…
Sorrowful reality…a misery…bon voyage

Deep down my heart, I heard a voice,
A voice of yours,
“Just wait and watch” you said to me,
And I stood in dismay, you walked away…

Versed Trial

Man: Thou art fairer than those angels above,
And so are thy beauty of everlasting love,
Thou art a lady, yet art fair,
Closer thee come towards to me.

Your beauty shall not fade,
Nor be subdued by the immortal time,
But the time shall bend upon to you and your beauty,
Shall the time fade, your beauty shall pass untouched.

Thy breath shall everyone breathe,
Thy song of a fair lady born, will everyone sing,
Pounds of heart dost beat to thee,
But they heart forever shall beat to me.

To stop your tears,
I’ve wiped them and cried a thousand times,
Two precious pearls that fall on my palms,
I’ve wished you take all of my happiness…

To see a smile across thy face,
Have I not crafted a fool of myself?
To see those merry eyes squeeze in laughter,
Have I not cried and torn up from self?

How long forever am I to say,
Now and then…again and again,
Life’s a journey of two souls to one,
Of two hearts beating as one?

Lady: “The hearts of emotion, forever dost betray,
A thorn in the rose, a pain in thy chest,
Forget self, and see how beautiful the world,
Is to be,” the Lady thence said.

Man: But what worth is the beauty or the world,
When I can never show it to you,
What’s a rose, if it lacks a thorn?
What’s a heart if it fails emotions?

Lady: “Forever shall thee repent,
If thee go on this way,
Trust in thy fair lady’s words,
The hearts of emotion forever dost betray.”

Man: If you say so,
I trust on to you,
If the hearts of emotion does betray,
Forever I shall be heartless, I want you to know,
Nay, I never blame you.

Lady: “Once again thy heart shall pound,
Nay to a person alike to me,
But to an angel of thy kind,
Forever thee shall stay merry together.”

Man: I then hope, you turn to be true,
My heart shall beat again,
To an angel of my kind,
And wish we stay happy together.

Lady: “Yet thy love, never shall I own again,
Believe on my words of sorry,
Never shall else love me like thee.”

Man: Alas! It is a sorrow to say,
The immortal time hath subdued thee,
Yet thy beauty shall never fade,
For an angel of my kind,
I shall hope,
Possess thee but just for me

And now I rest with my unrestful heart,
Weep long enough to tear apart,
The one for whose two drops of tear,
I cried a thousand,
The one for whose smile,
I crafted a fool of myself…

Alas! I shall never have her…

What’s a life without the one you love,
If not you, never shall another,
Forgive me Fair Lady, never shall I ever need,
An angel of my kind.

A life comes once in a lifetime,
And so does a heart beat,
Once to a person, and never again,
‘spite the short lived lives,
There’s more of segregation and sorrow,
Less union and happiness…why?

Horrors of War

Look at the trodden places of men,
Where vehicles and small bicycles ran,
Where high buildings and skyscrapers stood,
Nothing of it now remains.

Look at that ground where little kids played,
Are now holed with nothing left,
Bomb shells and dust is all you find,
In the place where there was a football ground.

Look at that half shattered house,
Where an elderly rocked in his chair,
Reminiscing his childhood days,
When he played like those little kids,

Look at that fair faced girl in her teens,
Whose beauty was always eyed upon,
She was just returning home buying flowers,
Alas! Now it will be used for her coffin and her tomb.

Look at that overturned child,
With a punctured ball next to him,
He was tired and returning home,
Now forever he shall rest…

Look at that school,
Where kids were reading,
Completely destroyed under it those pupils,
Will they ever read? Nay.

We share the same red blood,
And our short lived lives,
So why do me fight to end our lives,
And that of others, to an untimely end?

Let us all promise, NOW,
With the string of trust and brotherhood,
Together we shall dwell, in the presence of peace,
Not with the horrors of war.

Mistakes we do make,
And learn from them,
But why not here?
Are we fools?

A Journey

I.
I went to the urban streets,
It’s large and big,
With lots of vehicles moving here and there,
But no one’s there to speak.

I went to the urban houses,
Big and beautiful, rich people I called,
Inside were alien gadgets, big and small,
And a child was playing with one,

Fearsome sound that gadget made,
Gun noise, and a panicked combat troop,
Then in its screen, I saw a man fall down,
I got scared, the game was over.

I went to the urban grounds,
Playground, it was supposed to be,
But not a child played in it,
Save some dogs and grazing cows…

Oh! what a life do they live,
No one sees the other,
Everything on rush and haste,
How much I miss my home…

II.
I went to the rural streets,
Narrow lanes, smelly kids,
With carts running here and there,
Oh! no vehicle to move on…

I went to the rural houses,
Small and warm,
Inside, a merry peasant’s family playing,
No computers or technologies, still so happy…

They laughed and played,
Worked together in the fields,
A world of their own,
How merry….but my home…

I went to the village grounds,
Kids there played, and made joyous sounds,
My playground back home…
Oh! what misery…

What merry life do they live,
One knows the rest,
Everything slow and smooth, and so very beautiful,
How much I now wish, I was one of them too!

Faerie

The melodies that echoes in my ear,
Of a distant maid calling my name,
In the hamlet near that ocean bed,
From the mountain ridges of the north,

She plays and runs, and roam around,
Sits above that rocky cliff,
And sees the sun at the horizon go down,
And the melodies echoed in my ears.

One early morning,
She thus woke and ran,
To meet the rising sun on the mountain cliffs,
And I heard the melodies echo in my ear

Her sweet voice with love in it,…
The gentle wind…the gentle breeze,
Her shyness and her mystical smile…
Her dark black hair,…and her that very face…

While the wind rhymes her anklet’s sound,
She runs with her bare feet up above the mountain cliffs,
As if a flower would blossom in her trodden steps,
Pulling her lehenga a little above her ankle…

Thus one day I went,
To meet the voice on the mountain ridges,
Where she stood facing the rising sun, singing a song,
And I gently embraced her from behind,

And then she turned towards to me,
With her wet eyes…with her doubtful smile…
Then I kissed her forehead and her tears,
And together we stayed…forever and long.

* lehenga: an ankle length skirt, derived from Indian word.

Violin Song

If I ever hear your hollow sound,
Echoing in the midnight day,
Hollow melody with the gentle wind,
And a couple dancing to your tune,

If I ever hear your pressed sound,
Up to yourself in the early morn,
Melancholic melody in the bustling traffic,
And a couple in hurry passing by of you,

If I ever hear your joyous sound,
Echoing amidst the crowd at a stage,
Merry sound that brings everyone to groove,
And everyone’s feet tapping the floor below,

I would forever know,
Countless emotions you bring to life,
By your strings of sorrow and joy,
You are the words of those unspoken silences,
You are the unchained melody of the violin song.

Lamented Ode to Childhood

Small wonders roam over these narrow lanes,
Innocent little kids who see the world with utter innocence,
While they roam and play, and wander around,
The sun above them shines in merry brightness

Although those elderly walk to the temple doors,
And offer their respects to their creator,
Those small wonders are closest to the heavenly spirits,
With their innocent hearts that wonder a god

An elderly thus lamented, for his childhood long gone,
Where he played and roamed, and wandered around,…
Here and there, with nothing on his mind,
And no sorrow in his heart,

Oh! how beautiful life had then resembled,
When I wondered what is a cat!
Yet how quickly it has flown,
And left me with not a bit of my childhood innocence,

But now I know, a cat and a dog,
With distinct characters of their own,
Yet something flew right below me when I knew them,…

My childhood days with innocence overshadowing me.

Yet those little wonders, now with innocence etched on their faces,
Will be just like me,
Lamenting for their lost childhood days,
Considering how quickly life has flown…
Oh! what misery.

But I now wonder with innocence that at least is revived,
Who is closest to god forever long,
With the flowing time, a child alas! Grows to a man,
With no innocence left behind,…grave deeds and the same intentions,

What a sorrow it is to say,
None of those mercied are close to god,
For between the heaven and the land below,Vast winds and cool breeze blows!

Elusive Love

Hark! The sounds of the colossal breeze,
The fragrance of my love mixed with it,
“Treacherous” you may say,
Nay, I am a true lover within

Your azure eyes of the deep blue sea,
Oh! what beauty it seems to me,
Look from the eyes of my heart,
And I’ll tell you how angelic you are to me

Heavenly angels dare not tread on your depth,
Save my love I give to you,
“Fake” you may name it,
Nay, it’s real than you dread

Kings of heaven,
Descendants of earth,
“Illusion” you may call her to me,
Nay, she’s a reality you wish to snatch away from me.

“Love, I love you,”
I wish I could say,
Yet something on my way stops me from within,
Misery it is to me, yet “I love you, love”

My words serve my purpose,
I love you, and that is what I mean,
I know not how you are,But your name marks my existence.

The Nightingale and the Rose

Like the roses fade,
Your love to me…I doubt it did last
Alas! What a misery it is,
T o the dying rose,

Yet the thorns are as fresh as new
While the world doesn’t bother,
It pities itself
And weeps while its petals tear apart

Oh dear, nay you cry” said the nightingale
Feeling sorry for the fading rose
Life’s a cycle of death and birth,
Why cry in dismay?

Alas! What a sorrow it is,
For I was newly born, look at my afresh thorns…
Look at the fading me

“Nay you cry. Laugh and go,
And spread your fragrance for the Immortal time
And I’ll carry it to the deserts and the mountain,
Nay you cry for you fragrance will linger on.”

And thus laughed the rose, for the nightingale at the least,
Spread the fragrance by the howling wind
And gently slept away from the stem.
Words

Words always mean more than we say,
Yet at times it remains quiet
Disembarking us from saying,
How much we love the other

At times they are the ocean’s rage
And a time, the sound of the gentle wind.
Which no one could listen to…
Which everyone ere to hear.

For in these winds,
The words are hidden…
Foe in these winds,
The words get carried away

If I could frame the gentle winds,
And let go of the ocean’s rage,
I would know exactly what I feel,
I would know exactly what she feels,

Words always mean more than we say,
Yet at times it remains quiet
Disembarking us from hearing,
How much the other loves us

These words are just mere expressions of oneself,
Yet it means so much to the other…
And so much it means to us,
Hark! The gentle winds

I love you, I never can say,
For my words get carried away
By the howling wind I can hear,
As I gently call your name!

Words always mean more than we say,
Yet at times it remains quiet
Disembarking us from saying,
How much we love the other
Disembarking us from hearing,
How much the other loves us.
Precious Red

Oh! How wonderful you look to me.
With that smile over you face,
Perfect paradise, it seems to me,
Where I could live forever and long

Your name refers some angelic light
Never had anyone thought about
And your smile reflects presumptuous moon,
Never did I ever think of!

And yet in these darkness,
I think of you,
And the very thought
Reflects your sweetness and you love

Believe in my words,
For I love you dear,
Believe in my words,
Before they mean more or less

With these thoughts, I wish to sleep
Come in my dreams, together we shall live
For reality of ours, separates you from me,
Seven vast seas, oh! What misery!
