Love's Note

The soothing sound of the unforgotten memories,
The tranquil air,
The silent sea,
The love I own, forever I now offer to thee!

The kisses and hugs,
The merry laughs,
Those tears in your eyes,
The pearls uncought…bruised within…

The truth of your eyes,
Are vivid as the unspoken words,
Silent; yet haunting; heard…overwhelmed,
The depth of love; demystified and stood

The seldom love, paid in full,
The unthought God, turned to be true,
Love’s by luck, not by chance,
May it linger, may it last.

I love you dear,
Forever I stay,
The promises made,
Never does betray,

Love’s my life,
My life is you,
So I say,
“Life’s short lived,
I forever love you.”

The Chosen One

Amidst the passing crowd,
There stood a damsel, fair faced like the moon,
Loved by all, beloved to one,
I stood in dismay, was it me?

I then wondered, the existence of hers,
Her face played in my eyes,
Her memories ran across my heart,
Her shy smile…melted him down,
Her sweet voice in melody, echoed everywhere.

Her eyes, like that of a doe,
Her face, like the moon above,
Her mystical smile,…the Lisa’s* smile,
Her dark black hair that fell down her face…
The dark black night it called…

Earthly child, yet never does she resemble one,
Eyed by all, loved by one,
The one she loves…the one she owns…
The one she; holds him close,
The one who drinks by her lips…
The one who dreams…on her lap…

He would bring her, her joys and smiles,
Kiss away her pain…those falling tears,
Hold her close, fight the world for her,…
The Chosen One, is just for her.

No I sit back, puzzled with illusion,
“The Chosen One, who would it be?
Pounds of heart does beat to her,
For whom shall; but her heart beat?

Words never does, serve their purpose,
Words retreated…distorted…never heard,…
The Chosen One, would she get?
She’s an earthly child,
An earthly man, she will get!

* Lisa: Mona Lisa

War Widow

Wife: “Shh! Lie down, close your eyes,
I’ll come back,
Just once I’ll go,
And never again,” he had said.

I let him go,
For trust in love,
I trusted him,
He kissed my lips, and we then parted…

Soldier: My beloved, the war is harsh,
My friends die,
I weep. They wish my safety, bloody hands…
Yet I fear,…what next second brings to me

My fate is flickering…my luck in dismay,
I wish not me…I wish not me,
Yet, ‘spite of it, your memories still fills my heart,
I will come…I wish to come…

Wife: Yet you never came,
Trusted love, betrayed by luck,
I now weep…do you hear?
I now weep…do you see?

Soldier: My love, I write to you,
A friend close to me died ago*,
I am scared…I fear…
His body…shredded to pieces…stepped a mine…

I cried, it is hard to explain,
My heart’s stiff,…
Am I a living dead? I fondly ask,
Just don’t weep…I will be back…I wish to come…

Wife: I pray, sit below the Blessed,
You be home, kids are waiting…I am waiting…
Your daughter says, “when is daddy coming?”
I weep…your promise…

Soldier: My love, how am I to say,
Luck betrayed love,
You are an illusion never will I reach,
I am stuck here, I cannot run…
My kids, I guess, look my way,
So do you…yet, an illusion you are to reach,…
Say the kids,
Daddy’s bringing a surprise…I’m coming home.

Wife: I wait for you,
The kids are waiting in front of the door,
With every stopping van,
They think it’s you,
I pray it’s you…

Soldier: A van is coming, combat coloured,
Send the kids inside,
You come towards it,
Hug me, kiss me…just don’t you cry…

Wife: “Shh! Lie down, close your eyes,
I will com back,
Just once I’ll go,
And never again,” he had said.

I lay down,
Closed my eyes,
Opened my eyes,
You never came…
You just went…
You never came…you never came…

A wonderful surprise, you gave to me,
You never came…you never came.,
See my wet eyes that longs your way,
Please come back home…
Never will you,,,you just went…you just went.

Peace.

The Choosen One

Amidst the passing crowd,
There stood a damsel, fair faced like the moon,...
Loved by all, beloved to one,

The Great Gatsby's Song

I.
The money could, forever buy loves,
Yet never could I buy, the love of yours,
For the money I own
Are poor in front of the well-loved eyes of yours.

Love to you, forever does last, within my heart,
Cherished eternally, 'spite my short lived life,
The pounding heart, beats by your name,
The greatness of love, overwhelmed.

The darkness of my life,
Glowed by the bright love's sphere of yours,
For eternal shall your warmth touch me by my heart,...
The coldness of air buried in the grave's deep core...

My love to you does prevail,
"Unavailed Love," you still yet veil,
The hearts of emotions dare not betray,
My love to you, forever shall stay.

The twists and turns, the ups and downs,
Farewells more than those welcomes,
Will I see you? I doubt myself,
The world goes round, I will one day!

And now I meet you,
Too late to say; I love you dear,
Yet my heart speaks those words of love,
My heart speaks those words of love,
My mouth stays mum, you never can hear,

Dazzled...perplexed by the beauty you own,
I wonder why, love is tested by the immortal time,
The cool breeze sways away my love,
Did you sense...the air around?

II.
He was a man, a lover within,
The blame taken, all by him,
"Never did I, yet I take the blame,
My beloved's mistake, I head to self."

Thus one day I went,
To the mansion he owned,
Via the gate, to the pool,
Blood floated over the tiled passage,
Gatsby dead...shot to dead,
George dead...shot to self...

Yet his love forever shall last,
"Weeping Daisy, never cry,
For your tears, will I see still,
Love lost, to the time blessed,

Yet our love,
Forever long, will linger on,
Echo by your blooming name,
Daisy Fay...Daisy Love..." the letter of his pocket read.

Humble Love

The gentle breeze blows with a fluttering noise,
And gently touch you on your face,
Then spread my fragrance and my love,
Shall reach to you to fill my place.

Loved by heart, forever you shall last,
Stand against all the odds,
You linger to my memories for long,
So I kiss the wind, to kiss your lips,
And embrace the breeze, to hold you near.

Distance does set us apart,
Yet the pounding hearts, binds us together,
Miles of distance covered by the wind for me,
I'm next to you, forever I will be.

It had not been merely the shining stars,
But the gentle breeze,
The fluttering noise,
The humble love!

The exhilariting ripple of your voice,
Now echoes in my ears,
Warm with love, your sweet voice sings,
Love knows no boundary, crosses if it exists,

So I stay; calm and pleased,
And the love grown, bethroned by your words,
And thus I say, with pride I possess,

"I love the wind, for it touches you,
The shining stars that falls on you tonight,
Thy creator that made you,
And my heart for it loves you.

Isbella

She sings and dance,
Runs wild with merry face,
Her sweet voice sings with the wind,
A merry girl Isbella.

Last night I saw her from my windowpane,
She was in the street,
Walking slowly below the mnon lit street,
Tears in her eyes, Oh! Isbella.

Next day I saw the weather gray,
Isbella thence danced,...the grayness was bright,
Her glimmering face, piercing the dark clouds above,
The sun thus rose, her face bright and warm...

A day she smiled and danced,
The weather bright and warm,
The next day her face etched long haunting memories,
I thus asked, she and me, the night cold and stiff...

"Your merry face, the sun shines bright,
Next day your face etches long haunting memories,
I fondly wonder why it's so,
I get bothered, just why is it so?"

Her voice thus trembled,
She cried in a weeping note,
The night's cold wind howled,
The ocean's silence, raised in rage,
She held me close, I wiped her tears...

Her embrace spoke it all,
All her memories, blown by the wind,
She thus smiled, I was pleased,
Her daunting voice, now was sweet.

Thus the other day,
I then saw her on the street,
She waved to me, her merry face...her sweet song heard,
Those haunting memories, forever forgotten...

Merry Isbella,
Stay forever long,
Your tears shall never again fall,
Save your smile,
Everyone will see,
For a part of my love resides on thee...

Angel's Love

The angel's love forever does last,
Linger to my memories I now cherish,
A faerie of the earth hidden underneath,
In the shallow waters where I could reach

Long enough was the wait I stayed,
The patience of love, finally paid,
Not the shadows of water that stays,
Merry song her voice now says,

"The shallow water, cold it was,
My awaited love, harsh it was,
What's love, I now know,
Wonderful life, I now share with thee.

The days of sorrow, overturned to joy,
The coldness of the water; and the air,
Are now warm with the love of yours,
The shallow water, now is long forgotten...

Your patience of love, now is paid,
My love to you, forever does stay,
Linger in our memories, we now share,
A fairy of the earth you thus see..."

A bright light she now showed,
The morning sun, never did rise,
Her beauty sparked...those falling pearls I caught...
Alas! The angel I saw now was a girl I loved from within,

The sun now raised, behind of me,
Her angelic face with the sun's radiant light,
Something magnificient, it looked,
Words run poor, save a thing I wish to say,
Ek is lief vir jou.

Unavailed Love

I heard her name in a crowded street,
I glanced her…she resembled an angel,
She then called me by my name,
“Unavailed love”, I called myself…dismissed the thought

I saw her in those narrow lanes,
Walking here and there,
She waved to me,
“Angel I can’t reach,” I called myself,
And she bid me a bye

Then a sorrow filled me from within,
I cried and wept,
She never did see,
The wet eyes in the falling rain,

“It’s easy to cry in rain,
As no one can see your tears,..”
“It’s easy to cry in rain,
As she couldn’t see my tears.”
And she laughed from within, I from the skin…

I saw the girl,
She blinked an eye to me,
Thought I’d do the same,
Alas! She didn’t know I was blind,
“Unfortunate love,” she said to me

One day she thus came to me,
I defined her appearance,
“You could see,” she told in disbelief,
“I could see…but could you?”

If I had a want,
I’d spellbound you with my love…nay I wouldn’t,
I’d wait till you walked to me

She then cried,
I wiped those tears…broke from within,
I then wished to hold her tight,
Nay, I couldn’t…I stood behind…stood behind…

Someone came, his vision was blur,
Held her close,
I watched in dismay,
Stepped back in the dark…

Unavailed love…
Unfortunate love…
Illusion unreached…
It just was a dream for real.

Country Love

Ever you love,
Love your country,
A girl that never will leave you,…
A girl you only can leave.

Smell the air, the breath she breathes,
Smell the soil, the love she spreads.
Feel those stones, the sufferings she resists,
See the mountains of snow, the smile she smiles.

Ever you love,
Love your country,
A girl that never will betray you,…
A girl you only can betray...

Her melody flows with the rivers,
Her pain, burnt to ashes,
Ashes that flies in the air,
But never leaves her alone…

Ever you love,
Love your country,
A girl that loves you unconditionally
A girl you can love with pride.

Love her and sing her song,
With the wind she’ll then rhyme with you,
With the rain,
She’ll wet you with her thank you note,…let go of her painful sorrows.

And she says, “ I love you,
But do you too?
Never will I betray or will I leave you,
But will you?...”

Mixed Emotions

The snow capped mountains that rests behind of you,
With the fading sun reflecting the snow,
It would look beautiful...nay it didn't
For you were infront of me...

What's the beauty compared to you?
The sun fades away...
The mountains darken with it,
But never will you or your beauty fade to me

Your black dark hair becomes the night for the mountains to darken
The moon to rise...the sun to fade,
Then I'll have you, all but to me...
'til the early morn when everyone will eye the beauty of yours

The banks of money, I saw today,
Lots of money...greed filled me from within
But your image that played in my mind,...
The money was rich...you were richer

What's the richness compared with you?
It slips away in a day or two,
But your love towards me...never will it fade,
Never will I ever be poor by you.

I saw a dream, I dreamt today,
I lay on my wooden bed,
Behind of me, you were there...tears in your eyes...
Oh! What misery, I never could wipe or kiss them away...

The beauty of yours that I adored,...
Beauty from within...nay from the skin,
I'll take with me,
And think of you up above...

But you wipe your tears, and go on,
Never worry,...
Ever you fall, ever you rise,
I'll always be there...just for you...only for you.

Just You

The cold breeze that blows in the early morn,
Blowing and blurring the vision by the morning haze,
The vision that looked at your figure,
Now alas! Is blurred…transfigured…

That fair faced lady,
With that angelic light,
Transfigured by the morning haze,
Into a lady of my kind I love.

Angelic hope now shimmers with the mists and drops of dew,
Reflecting a new life…a world of my own,
Merry me, with the lady transformed,
Those angelic light…are now in her eyes…

Life flows away, swiftly and soon,
Before we realize its flow,
It’s too late just to know,
How quickly life is spent…how short it now remains,

Life’s short lived,
Yet so long your memory lingers…
Immortal to the time I live,
Immortal to the life you live,

World’s anew…afresh I say,
You came to me like the rising sun after that falling rain,
Warm with love, that struck me again,
Those fading thoughts of love, blossom once again

Sprung with delight,
I wonder-wander around…about you,
I wish not to get hurt again,
So I keep those words all up to myself,

One day I dream, I know for sure,
I’ll hold your hands,…walk down the carpeted aisle,
Lean down up to you,
And kiss my beloved bride.

Bon Voyage

Her farewell kiss, on my cheeks,
Her merry face, broken from self?
Her tears of joy…her painful sorrow…
Her last turn behind...bon voyage

Like the castle of sand,
Promises never does last,
Blown and swept away,
Was there a castle in the sand?

Goodbye to you,
Walk away and farewell to your memories,
Those cherished memories of tears and joy,
Life’s short lived, there’s more of segregation, I know.

Your farewell kiss on my cheeks,
Your merry face; broken from self,
Your tears of joy; your sorrow within,
Your step forward…bon voyage

Yet I wish this be my dream,
I could frame the time,
Never let you go away…
Sorrowful reality…a misery…bon voyage

Deep down my heart, I heard a voice,
A voice of yours,
“Just wait and watch” you said to me,
And I stood in dismay, you walked away…

Versed Trial

Man: Thou art fairer than those angels above,
And so are thy beauty of everlasting love,
Thou art a lady, yet art fair,
Closer thee come towards to me.

Your beauty shall not fade,
Nor be subdued by the immortal time,
But the time shall bend upon to you and your beauty,
Shall the time fade, your beauty shall pass untouched.

Thy breath shall everyone breathe,
Thy song of a fair lady born, will everyone sing,
Pounds of heart dost beat to thee,
But they heart forever shall beat to me.

To stop your tears,
I’ve wiped them and cried a thousand times,
Two precious pearls that fall on my palms,
I’ve wished you take all of my happiness…

To see a smile across thy face,
Have I not crafted a fool of myself?
To see those merry eyes squeeze in laughter,
Have I not cried and torn up from self?

How long forever am I to say,
Now and then…again and again,
Life’s a journey of two souls to one,
Of two hearts beating as one?

Lady: “The hearts of emotion, forever dost betray,
A thorn in the rose, a pain in thy chest,
Forget self, and see how beautiful the world,
Is to be,” the Lady thence said.

Man: But what worth is the beauty or the world,
When I can never show it to you,
What’s a rose, if it lacks a thorn?
What’s a heart if it fails emotions?

Lady: “Forever shall thee repent,
If thee go on this way,
Trust in thy fair lady’s words,
The hearts of emotion forever dost betray.”

Man: If you say so,
I trust on to you,
If the hearts of emotion does betray,
Forever I shall be heartless, I want you to know,
Nay, I never blame you.

Lady: “Once again thy heart shall pound,
Nay to a person alike to me,
But to an angel of thy kind,
Forever thee shall stay merry together.”

Man: I then hope, you turn to be true,
My heart shall beat again,
To an angel of my kind,
And wish we stay happy together.

Lady: “Yet thy love, never shall I own again,
Believe on my words of sorry,
Never shall else love me like thee.”

Man: Alas! It is a sorrow to say,
The immortal time hath subdued thee,
Yet thy beauty shall never fade,
For an angel of my kind,
I shall hope,
Possess thee but just for me

And now I rest with my unrestful heart,
Weep long enough to tear apart,
The one for whose two drops of tear,
I cried a thousand,
The one for whose smile,
I crafted a fool of myself…

Alas! I shall never have her…

What’s a life without the one you love,
If not you, never shall another,
Forgive me Fair Lady, never shall I ever need,
An angel of my kind.

A life comes once in a lifetime,
And so does a heart beat,
Once to a person, and never again,
‘spite the short lived lives,
There’s more of segregation and sorrow,
Less union and happiness…why?

Horrors of War

Look at the trodden places of men,
Where vehicles and small bicycles ran,
Where high buildings and skyscrapers stood,
Nothing of it now remains.

Look at that ground where little kids played,
Are now holed with nothing left,
Bomb shells and dust is all you find,
In the place where there was a football ground.

Look at that half shattered house,
Where an elderly rocked in his chair,
Reminiscing his childhood days,
When he played like those little kids,

Look at that fair faced girl in her teens,
Whose beauty was always eyed upon,
She was just returning home buying flowers,
Alas! Now it will be used for her coffin and her tomb.

Look at that overturned child,
With a punctured ball next to him,
He was tired and returning home,
Now forever he shall rest…

Look at that school,
Where kids were reading,
Completely destroyed under it those pupils,
Will they ever read? Nay.

We share the same red blood,
And our short lived lives,
So why do me fight to end our lives,
And that of others, to an untimely end?

Let us all promise, NOW,
With the string of trust and brotherhood,
Together we shall dwell, in the presence of peace,
Not with the horrors of war.

Mistakes we do make,
And learn from them,
But why not here?
Are we fools?

A Journey

I.
I went to the urban streets,
It’s large and big,
With lots of vehicles moving here and there,
But no one’s there to speak.

I went to the urban houses,
Big and beautiful, rich people I called,
Inside were alien gadgets, big and small,
And a child was playing with one,

Fearsome sound that gadget made,
Gun noise, and a panicked combat troop,
Then in its screen, I saw a man fall down,
I got scared, the game was over.

I went to the urban grounds,
Playground, it was supposed to be,
But not a child played in it,
Save some dogs and grazing cows…

Oh! what a life do they live,
No one sees the other,
Everything on rush and haste,
How much I miss my home…

II.
I went to the rural streets,
Narrow lanes, smelly kids,
With carts running here and there,
Oh! no vehicle to move on…

I went to the rural houses,
Small and warm,
Inside, a merry peasant’s family playing,
No computers or technologies, still so happy…

They laughed and played,
Worked together in the fields,
A world of their own,
How merry….but my home…

I went to the village grounds,
Kids there played, and made joyous sounds,
My playground back home…
Oh! what misery…

What merry life do they live,
One knows the rest,
Everything slow and smooth, and so very beautiful,
How much I now wish, I was one of them too!

Faerie

The melodies that echoes in my ear,
Of a distant maid calling my name,
In the hamlet near that ocean bed,
From the mountain ridges of the north,

She plays and runs, and roam around,
Sits above that rocky cliff,
And sees the sun at the horizon go down,
And the melodies echoed in my ears.

One early morning,
She thus woke and ran,
To meet the rising sun on the mountain cliffs,
And I heard the melodies echo in my ear

Her sweet voice with love in it,…
The gentle wind…the gentle breeze,
Her shyness and her mystical smile…
Her dark black hair,…and her that very face…

While the wind rhymes her anklet’s sound,
She runs with her bare feet up above the mountain cliffs,
As if a flower would blossom in her trodden steps,
Pulling her lehenga a little above her ankle…

Thus one day I went,
To meet the voice on the mountain ridges,
Where she stood facing the rising sun, singing a song,
And I gently embraced her from behind,

And then she turned towards to me,
With her wet eyes…with her doubtful smile…
Then I kissed her forehead and her tears,
And together we stayed…forever and long.

* lehenga: an ankle length skirt, derived from Indian word.

Violin Song

If I ever hear your hollow sound,
Echoing in the midnight day,
Hollow melody with the gentle wind,
And a couple dancing to your tune,

If I ever hear your pressed sound,
Up to yourself in the early morn,
Melancholic melody in the bustling traffic,
And a couple in hurry passing by of you,

If I ever hear your joyous sound,
Echoing amidst the crowd at a stage,
Merry sound that brings everyone to groove,
And everyone’s feet tapping the floor below,

I would forever know,
Countless emotions you bring to life,
By your strings of sorrow and joy,
You are the words of those unspoken silences,
You are the unchained melody of the violin song.

Lamented Ode to Childhood

Small wonders roam over these narrow lanes,
Innocent little kids who see the world with utter innocence,
While they roam and play, and wander around,
The sun above them shines in merry brightness

Although those elderly walk to the temple doors,
And offer their respects to their creator,
Those small wonders are closest to the heavenly spirits,
With their innocent hearts that wonder a god

An elderly thus lamented, for his childhood long gone,
Where he played and roamed, and wandered around,…
Here and there, with nothing on his mind,
And no sorrow in his heart,

Oh! how beautiful life had then resembled,
When I wondered what is a cat!
Yet how quickly it has flown,
And left me with not a bit of my childhood innocence,

But now I know, a cat and a dog,
With distinct characters of their own,
Yet something flew right below me when I knew them,…

My childhood days with innocence overshadowing me.

Yet those little wonders, now with innocence etched on their faces,
Will be just like me,
Lamenting for their lost childhood days,
Considering how quickly life has flown…
Oh! what misery.

But I now wonder with innocence that at least is revived,
Who is closest to god forever long,
With the flowing time, a child alas! Grows to a man,
With no innocence left behind,…grave deeds and the same intentions,

What a sorrow it is to say,
None of those mercied are close to god,
For between the heaven and the land below,Vast winds and cool breeze blows!

Elusive Love

Hark! The sounds of the colossal breeze,
The fragrance of my love mixed with it,
“Treacherous” you may say,
Nay, I am a true lover within

Your azure eyes of the deep blue sea,
Oh! what beauty it seems to me,
Look from the eyes of my heart,
And I’ll tell you how angelic you are to me

Heavenly angels dare not tread on your depth,
Save my love I give to you,
“Fake” you may name it,
Nay, it’s real than you dread

Kings of heaven,
Descendants of earth,
“Illusion” you may call her to me,
Nay, she’s a reality you wish to snatch away from me.

“Love, I love you,”
I wish I could say,
Yet something on my way stops me from within,
Misery it is to me, yet “I love you, love”

My words serve my purpose,
I love you, and that is what I mean,
I know not how you are,But your name marks my existence.

The Nightingale and the Rose

Like the roses fade,
Your love to me…I doubt it did last
Alas! What a misery it is,
T o the dying rose,

Yet the thorns are as fresh as new
While the world doesn’t bother,
It pities itself
And weeps while its petals tear apart

Oh dear, nay you cry” said the nightingale
Feeling sorry for the fading rose
Life’s a cycle of death and birth,
Why cry in dismay?

Alas! What a sorrow it is,
For I was newly born, look at my afresh thorns…
Look at the fading me

“Nay you cry. Laugh and go,
And spread your fragrance for the Immortal time
And I’ll carry it to the deserts and the mountain,
Nay you cry for you fragrance will linger on.”

And thus laughed the rose, for the nightingale at the least,
Spread the fragrance by the howling wind
And gently slept away from the stem.
Words

Words always mean more than we say,
Yet at times it remains quiet
Disembarking us from saying,
How much we love the other

At times they are the ocean’s rage
And a time, the sound of the gentle wind.
Which no one could listen to…
Which everyone ere to hear.

For in these winds,
The words are hidden…
Foe in these winds,
The words get carried away

If I could frame the gentle winds,
And let go of the ocean’s rage,
I would know exactly what I feel,
I would know exactly what she feels,

Words always mean more than we say,
Yet at times it remains quiet
Disembarking us from hearing,
How much the other loves us

These words are just mere expressions of oneself,
Yet it means so much to the other…
And so much it means to us,
Hark! The gentle winds

I love you, I never can say,
For my words get carried away
By the howling wind I can hear,
As I gently call your name!

Words always mean more than we say,
Yet at times it remains quiet
Disembarking us from saying,
How much we love the other
Disembarking us from hearing,
How much the other loves us.
Precious Red

Oh! How wonderful you look to me.
With that smile over you face,
Perfect paradise, it seems to me,
Where I could live forever and long

Your name refers some angelic light
Never had anyone thought about
And your smile reflects presumptuous moon,
Never did I ever think of!

And yet in these darkness,
I think of you,
And the very thought
Reflects your sweetness and you love

Believe in my words,
For I love you dear,
Believe in my words,
Before they mean more or less

With these thoughts, I wish to sleep
Come in my dreams, together we shall live
For reality of ours, separates you from me,
Seven vast seas, oh! What misery!

Wanderer

Words run poor on my lips
When I say how much I love you dear
Fair Lady you place is in the velvet roses
But why not in the madness of my heart?

“Love doesn’t last to those born lonely” said Fair Lady to me,
And I cried to the utmost
Where not even angels could share my tears!

The words of disbelief I heard from the Lady I loved,
Forgive you I said to her, blessed her spirit and walked away
I then turned to her and said in simple voice,
She mistook a relief!

Tears have become so cheap, they fall without a sense,
Heart has become so useless, it beats to anyone it sees
Forgive me Fair Lady for I’m a born poor and a lonely soul
That wanders around to find someone to walk with!

I then bid her a bye…nay, I walked away
To the place where solitude never leaves, and happiness never exists,
To the slums of poverty
Where loneliness clings…to the place where I could relate…

Oh! What sorrow it had been…
I still remember now…
But alas she never understood
I an the thorn that protects the rose!

The last day of one October sun,
I walked to her, bleeding…
Blood all over…

How much I wished to touch her the last time, no one could feel…
And yet I fell on the ground…
My hand asking to hold her hands…
For the next time I’m born, oh! Fair Lady,
I shall not be born lonely.

Montain Edge

.I.
The wind with its untrimmed breeze
Sways the reed near that very mountain edge
Slowly and swiftly it rhymes the wind
Dancing with melody all along

Among the reeds and cool breeze,
A sweet voice whispered
And in the wind, it echoes like my lost love singing
An angel, she was to me.

With my pounding heart
I went near to reach the voice
Listening to the melody of the winds…
Alas! Now was clearly a deep melancholy.

What a sorrow I felt in my heart
I cannot say
For the voice of melancholy…
I had mistaken a song.

And as I neared her,
She sat facing the mountain
Where my beloved and I
Sat looking at the setting sun below our feet…

Oh! What beauty it had been
But it was a long time back
The setting of the last November sun
Had faded my beloved the early morn!

Oh! How painful it had been to bid her a bye…
Tears streamed my eyes…
For it was yesterday we had imagined…
Our life together…forever…

Now the girl
Called me by my name…nay…she didn’t turn around…
She sat facing the mountain,…
Feeling my walk near to her,
She nodded her head as a welcome

Fearing…yet willing, I reached to her
Then I placed my hand over her shoulder to my left
Around she turned to me…
What a shock it was…she was the love I lost!

I backed my steps
Thinking of it as an illusion time played on to me
Then she neared to me…
With her eyes wet…my eyes in disillusionment.

Now she touched me,
Drawn me near and gently kissed my lips
And all my fear drowned in her kiss…
She never was gone…I cried of love.

She was there, and I was there
Nothing but her mattered to me now
And she then slowly
Walked back to the mountain edge.

Do not go, I called to her,
And she said to me, ‘the world does not respect love,
Come with me to a place where angels play, and love never ends’

Then I walked near to her…
While she stepped back and back…
Finally I trippec

.II.
The unchained melody of the voice
Echoes in my ears
Like merry melancholy trumpeting
Over the great mountain ridges.

In the fading sun, with gentle wind blowing…
Swaying the reeds nearby…
The voices I recalled…a duet I believe…
And remembered the story I had grown up hearing

Once there was a couple; my mother would begin
They were cupids passer bys stared at,
And lovers in jealousy cursed them from within,
For their love was immortal to the time they lived

The setting of one last November sun
Had faded his beloved one early morn
And since then he had lived a life of solitude
Until the next last November sun
When he faded away…
But it was a long time back

Ever since then, the duet voice echoed
Over the great mountain ridges
Where they sat looking the setting sun
Longing life together…forever…

The echoes in my ears
Weren’t merry melancholy trumpeting…
But the two immortal cupids singing
Their imagination coming true…to a place where no one could eye their love

Now I stood from the bench facing the drowning sun
Wished the cupids well
And walked back to my place…
While the wind howled thanking me…
And the reeds swayed bidding me a bye.

Angel of Bliss

Someone in the woods
Called me by my name
For the first time I heard
I thought it was an illusion

Next day I went to the woods again
And yet again, someone did call me by my name
This ought not be an illusion, I called myself
And wandered into the woods to reach the voice

A damsel in complete white
Stood behind a tree
Fair face she was…
Fair Lady she was…

With the gone Sun over the sky
She reflected angelic light
Bright enough to wet your eyes
She was an Angel of Bliss

Closer I went…
Her face was clear,
And her eyes glimmered in the quaint dark night
And I defined her, angelic beauty

Now she seemed an illusion to me
For a step closer, she walked away…
For a run near, she ran away…

“Do stop” I pleaded
And she turned her head towards me…
Her eyes that looked at me…
Completely struck me by awe

She was an Angel of Bliss
An angel; only one saw
And then she welcomed me to her…
With her arms wide open

For a moment I then stood dull,
Then I ran to reach her…
To own her…
To love her…

Alas! What a sorrow it was
For when I closed my eyes to hug her with love on my heart,
She disappeared with a sharp blow of the wind!

Se was a Fair Lady…
An angel a man couldn’t reach
Her place isn’t in the thorns of me…
But in the velvet roses up above.

Oh! But what’s a rose without a thorn…
Wouldn’t everyone pick it up with ease?

A Painter's Art

If the world were to be an art
And I its painter,
First I’d draw,
The Fair Lady I adore

With then would come me
Merry face with dreams and aspirations
Far away you misery!
Closer you come love…

Yet despite the happiness sketched
There still is dark
With the Fair Lady not smiling
For her heart wanders far away…

If I were to be a painter
And the world my art
First I’d draw
The Fair Lady

With then would come her heart winner
Both merry faces…
Close together…forever…
But oh! what misery

And in my painting,
Scorn as you may,
Never would I scribble my name
For what was never mine
Would I ever lose?...

“Away…away you go” cried Fair Lady to me
And a step back of me…
Glowed her face

Finally the art seemed bright and beautiful
With the Fair Lady’s smile and her heart winner…
With the fading me…
Like a gust of wind.

Startled were everyone with merry faces…
At a painter’s art
Fair Lady and her be-lover…
And alas! melancholy as it was,
No one understood the painter’s
Fragile heart…stone!

If I were to be a painter
And the world my art
First I’d draw…
The Fair Lady I adore…
The Fair Lady I lost!

A Proposal

Together we stay

And never shall we part

Despite the world’s end…

Despite the virtues end

Life for us is short enough to cherish

So hold my hand…

Oh! My beloved

And kiss me on my lips…

From where words shall burst out

Words of love…words of promises

Together we make…

Together we made…

Embrace me now

For who know what tomorrow brings to me

Let me not go…

Let us not part…

Still the night is long enough

With the twilight over

And the sphere of moon…

And the love of ours

Hold my hands…

And I’ll forever be there for you

Fill my fingers

And never will we part

Promises never does last

And yet this will last

My presence around you…

My love towards you…

I LOVE YOU.

Python's Patience

These ruthless nights seem eternal to me

With the dark night hovering over the sky

With the crescent moon…

With the twinkling stars…

Fair Lady, I wonder if its true

And still I wander-wonder around you

Yet your shadows overcast my presence

Darkening image I find in you!

The quaint dark night nay leaves its place

Yet it has to go…it will go…

For a beginning has an end…

For an end has its beginning

Still the Sun is yet to shine

Still there is lots to say

Still there is lots to wish…

Still there is but just you…

The python’s patience in the wild

Never is wasted

True love in spite of its uni-ness

Never does betray

One day or the other,

I know for sure,

Like the python’s patience in the wild,

My love to her…ought to pay.

Mirrors of Time

The mirrors of time that holds your memories

Are fading away with the time you called change

Nay I wish not…

And yet the time is cruel to me

And to the memories of yours that I cling to

Time is remorseless…or so they say

I know not for now time seems to be

Eternal to me…

A sorrowful file I live without you…

Like the deep sea without water…

A heart…without a beat

Now with despair in my mind

And loneliness in my heart

I sit and weep

Staring at the mirrors of time

Wishing and longing to cherish your memories

For a minute more…for a second more…

In a futile hope of winning time…

In a futile hope of cherishing your memories…

The Mirrors of Time…

The Cruel Time.

Romeo & Juliet

The whole of the world

Seems merry to me

For I know now that

Love is real,…nay a purpose

Oh! Romeo lying in heaven

Look at the world’s end

Where men mistaken love a game

And blame Juliet for thee death

Sorrow filled the beloved’s heart

And she cried in a weeping note…

As the rain fell…her dropping tears

Descending on the below earth;

Oh! Juliet of heaven,

Nay cry for the fondly fools of people’s mind

For they know not what they say…

For they are ignorant to the love you made

The rain of tears soaked the men of earth

And drenched their thoughts of love

Which was but a game to them

Hark! The thunder…the rising Romeo

With his message of love…the flashing lights

And thus changed the feeling of love…

Into something to live for…

Thus gazed the newly men

To the rising Sun after the dropping rain

With love in their heart…

With warmth in their soul

“The whole of the world

Seems merry to us

For we know now that

Love is real…nay a purpose” the newly sung.

Distorted Meaning

Nay, shall you not be gone in that deep sleep of yours

Where words nor prayers could ring you up

Nay, shall you not be gone in that deep sleep of yours

Where love of mine could never touch your heart

Look…the dreams we together made

Hark! The melodies of voices

The rage of time…

The castles of sand…

Nay, shall you not be gone in that deep sleep of yours

Where words nor prayers could rise you up

Nay shall you not be gone in that deep sleep of yours

Where hugs of mine could never soothe your sorrows

Who shall kiss me those of good nights?

And who shall ere for my door bell ring?

And who shall but you inspire me for a better tomorrow?

Nay, shall you not be gone in that deep sleep of yours

Where words nor prayers could ring you up

Where love of mine could never touch your heart

Where hugs of mine could never soothe your sorrows…

Where words nor prayers could rise you up.

Dream

The miles are long

And so is the journey of life

Yet we feel it to be

A short sleep of tonight

A short dream man so joyously dreams

Cherish the days

Tonight is all you have

Nay yesterday...nay tomorrow

Just but a day of now...

A today...

So kiss your dreams

Oh! you sweet dreamer

Love your beloved

Oh! you merry belover

And recherish the dream

From which you have just awaken.

Wardom

The soldiers slept on the ground

With their guns lying by their side

Alas! Their sleeps were but not of a moment

Undead soldiers dragged immobile bodies

Dragging and piling

Dragging and piling

Formed a chuck of pile

This is wardom

From where no one can retreat

This is kill or get killed

This is carnival

Amidst the pile shone a parchment from a comrade-dead-in-arms

An unproposed letter to his love

A sober soldier unfolded it

And read with melancholy in his voice:

“How much do I love you;

Yet never can I tell;

But would I now?

Nay. My life is coming to an untimely end.”

Prison Bird

My palace is my prison

Where I no longer dream of freedom

"Prison Bird" is a poem I wrote remembering a person who has no freedom...whose days are divided into going to school and returning back. Nothing more. The shifts in the stanzas refer to his physical growth, increasing determination, and finally the will to get out rather than dreaming.I am a bird

And this is my cage from where I cannot flee

I see the world from the bars

“Come” calls the world

Then my soul weeps

Seeing the bars in between

I breathe the same stale air

But I wish for fresh – which I can’t

So I dream at night – my flights to the woods

Flying…breathing…

I am inside cage

But my soul drifts away

Away from the bars to nomad lands

Break-free

So with all my might, I sit upright

Each passing minute, my hope strengthens

With each passing day, my wish becomes my impulse

So I say calm…waiting…waiting…

One day I will exit from here

If not alive then with a flower on my chest

But I will come out

I WILL COME OUT

Then will my soul smile gleefully

And my spirit be redeemed

I’ll then cry and say

“I’m free.”

She

Whose dreams are these?

And whose life are you living?

And for whom?

Oh! My friend lie no more.

Whose visions are these?

And what is your destiny?

And to where? Or to whom?

Oh! My friend keep on going. Nay turn back.

Whose prayers are these?

And to whom have you prayed?

Are those for forgiveness? Or for holiness?

Oh! My friend pray with your heart and see it come true

Whose tears are these?

And what are you crying for?

Are those forsake? Or is it for real?

Oh! My friend weep no more – your heart is fragile to beat

This is my life

And my dreams are powerful hopes

My visions – a better tomorrow

Prayers – revival of trust

And my tears – for the insanity of human kind.

My Dreams

Whose dreams are these?

And whose life are you living?

And for whom?

Oh! My friend lie no more.

Whose visions are these?

And to where? Or to whom?

Oh! My friend keep on going. Nay turn back.

Whose prayers are these?

And to whom have you prayed?

Are those for forgiveness? Or for holiness?

Oh! My friend pray with your heart and see it come true

Whose tears are these?

And what are you crying for?

Are those forsake? Or is it for real?

Oh! My friend weep no more – your heart is fragile to beat

This is my life

And my dreams are powerful hopes

My visions – a better tomorrow

Prayers – revival of trust

And my tears – for the insanity of human kind.

Mortal Me!

Her eyes look my ways

But she turns away

Her heart calls my name

Her laughter awakens my soul

And her tears catches my palms

From those eyes that gives me hope

At times when I’m down

Her turns are looks to search my presence

And her sad face – marks my absence

But her weeps are now what I can’t catch

Nor I hear or can kiss the pain

For now I lay on my bed

My eyes closed and heart dead

What happened to me

I no longer know

Except the fact that I miss you so…

Oh! Friend laugh and awaken my soul

So I can wipe those tears and ask you no more to cry

So I could spend some time with you

Before my trip to heaven that will make me cry

But were my wish to be fulfilled…

But oh! Mortal me!

Broken Valentine

Romance is in the air

But I’m standing lonesome amidst the crowd

With my feeling buried under the grave

Where solitude only gets expressed

My heart no longer wants the sounds of love

Nor do they sing all those love songs

Rather it bleeds once again

In this Valentine

Oh! My beloved you gave me more than I could take

So I five you a gift of tears you made me shed

Open your eyes and see my gift

A broken heart in tears for you this Valentine.

Silent Whisper

Silent is the night

And so are your words of love

Words which you express

But in a silent whisper

Your words are healing prayers

Those hymns with which I pray to God

So my prayers run deep and wild

But in a silent whisper

Your tears are rains

Those rains which hides everyones' tears

Alas! my tears are weeps of pain you can hear

But in a silent whisper

Your eyes are rays of hope

Those hope which shows me light

In my darkest times

But in a silent whisper

Now the night is sombre

With coldness in the air

Where all my feelings are stirred

But in a silent whisper

Au revoir

Soldiers woke up in the midst of night

To ding maids by their side

But alas! They found their comrade-in-arms

And the bastion they had to fight

The air smelt bullets

And the sounds echoed wounded wails

Visions showed death

And faces etched fear

Their voices drone as they listened

Melodies of the birds high in the sky

Exhorting them to scribble “Peace”

In the quiet dark night

A radiant light showed in the freedom horizon

And everybody’s face blazed with fear

As they watched for the last time

Death close by – embracing them with arms wide open…

Au revoir

Amen.

Elegy on a Soldier

And then his life too ended just like others

Mouth open with fear…eyes staring wide

Wide to the horizon of Peace

Away from this war where his blood now bleeds

His wails are but his funeral prayers

And the firing bullets – his ringing bells and hymns

But the melodies of the free flying birds…

Alas! Are the cried of his distant maid

His tears are dry

And so are his dreams

Dreams that were all his

But never would it now be fulfilled

His maid looks for him

And longs to hear from him

But who would send her his letters of love

Drenched in his blood

Scribbling, “He is Dead?”

Oh! Death

Oh! Death, how painful are you to think of

How hard to accept and welcome you

Harder to bid the dead farewell

Hardest to stop the flowing tears

I fear of you like everyone does

But not for me – someone I care of

Let no tears fall down her eyes

And roll down her cheeks on my fall

That is why I fear of you

Fear to the highest level

Where hope does not stand its chance

In the darkness of your name

Oh! Death, how painful are you to think of

How hard to accept and welcome you

Harder to bid the dead farewell

Hardest to stop the flowing tears.

River

The nature now beholds its beauty

To express how beautiful is everything

For those mostly depressed

The Sun shines bright on you

To enlighten your face

The moon shines brightest in the dark

To show you the path

The blue clouds come

To show your purity of soul

The dark clouds fall

To hide your tears

And so has the river come

To tell you to move on

For it knows that

Nothing lasts forever.

Fragrantic Sweetness

Sweet is the fragrance of flowers

Sweet is the melody of your song

Sweet is the smell of your scent

And sweet is this Eternal love

Sweet are the paths that lead to you

Sweet are the days I meet to you

Sweet is your name just like you

Sweet is every thing about you

Sweet is your soul

That keeps me alive

Sweet are your eyes

That give me hope

Sweet are you to me

Sweet shall you remain forever

To me, for the time immortal

Silence and Sorrow

And then the silence fell

But the pain never ended

The tears stopped coming

But the wail continued on

Stirred in the feeling so blue

The sorrows are fading away

Merry days were what I hoped for

But unlucky me…it just ended in hope

Filled only by the sorrow and pain

No more I know happiness

No more I know love

And no more I see the beauty

But I know every thing

Every thing but pain

Every thing but cry

Every thing but worldly sorrows

The pains are so stiff inside

Tears dare not come any longer

The cut is so deep inside

That the heart feels no longer

And therefore the silence fell

But the pain never ended

The tears stopped coming

But the wail continued on.

Cry

And alas! He cried

For the love he lost

Filled deep in sorrow

Speaking all his pain

About his lost love

The Sun didn’t shine bright

To show his face

Rather the moon replaced him

Filled with darkness

And he cried for his lost love

Bitter…bitter was his story

Bitter was his pain

Bitter was his reminiscence

About his love praying

To the God for her being alright.

Smile

Thee shall laugh
And never shall you show
Your pain and sorrow
For your smile is
Precious as the Sun
Which reflects in the dark nights
As a light to show me path.

Stage

The lights have been lit

The carpets have been spread

The curtains red stand as a background

Until the opening of the stage

Now shall the lights turn dark

The curtains will part into two

For the opening of the stage will be soon

But before, a man speaks for now

Explaining all the why’s

Telling all his desires

For ending his life as a vow

Until the stage opens

You shall not speak

For it is time that I be speaking and you be hearing.
